Bonjour, J'mapelle Ally!

Occasion:

Yesterday was such a gross rainy day and we sat around the house all morning. D made amazing french toast from left over challah and then we cleaned up the apartment. In the afternoon we decided to go see Inception. It was really interesting and we really enjoyed it. However, when we left it was POURING! We ran a block and a half to the car and got soaked. It was actually kinda fun to run through the rain - it made me feel like a kid again:) We got home, changed and then went to my friend Y's fiesta-themed birthday party (love ya Y, Happy Bday!!). She and her husband J made great Mexican finger foods and there was even some karokeing (A, you rock!!). At the party a bunch of friends commented that this outfit made me look very French:) I got really excited because D and I just booked our honeymoon (over a year later!) and we are going to Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam - yay, can't wait! I guess yesterday I was channeling my Parisian "twin".

After the party D and I went to Target to get some picture frames for some of our wedding photos (we are finally beginning to pick out our photos and make our album - again, over a year later!) We took Keppie with us and she was such a hit. Every kid in the store wanted to pet her - she was loving it. We then came home and I took my friend C to a pre-Jewish High Holy Days wig sale. When I picked C up, she also told me that I looked very French:) I didn't find what I was looking for but C got her first hair-piece. She got a headband fall and it looks AMAZING on her:) It was a very productive day and very relaxing at the same time.

I was actually wearing a different outfit today but when D and I got caught in the rain I got soaked and had to change. I didn't have much time to get ready before the party so I just put on a simple black shirt and dark denim pencil skirt. The ensemble was screaming for accessories so I added the patent leather belt and silk scarf. I liked the splash of color that the scarf added with the red, and I decided to match these red leather wedges to the accent color. I am not the best at walking in high heels; in fact, most of the time I feel like a 4 year-old in my mother's heels. Because of this, I tend to choose wedges. They provide the stability that is absent with stilettos but also give the desired height (I'm only 5'2") to give me a boost of confidence and feel taller. I decided to wear a hat since it was still raining/drizzling all evening. Since I got these glasses I have been wearing them much more often then I ever wore glasses before. I love these frames:)
