In "Vest" ment

LOVE all of the cool stones

Check out the cool pocket details!

Occasion:

My good friend R wanted some company as she did some errands yesterday and since I didn't have the car and I wanted to get out of the house, I decided to go with her. (I know, y'all think I am crazy for running other people's errands when all I do when I have the car is run my own errands!) We had a great time going to Staples and drooling over all the new school supplies. We then went to Century 21 and Target. After a brief time home (to feed Keppie), I went back out to meet R as she looked at some new apartments.

I structured this outfit around the accessories. I knew that I wanted to wear this bold necklace and the belt matched so perfectly that I went to my closet to try to find a canvas for these them. I reached for this 3-button vest in royal blue and remembered that I had this scarf that tied the turquoise to the deeper blue. The denim pencil skirt helps to keep the bottom half of the ensemble muted and not detract from the busy accessories. Tip: When wearing multiple accessories, keeping them in the same color scheme will make sure that your outfit doesn't look too busy.

Outfit:

White Undershirt: Ruthie's (in Monsey)

Vest: Banana Republic

Skirt: J.CREW

Necklace: Loft

Belt: J.CREW

Scarf: Talbots

Shoes: J.CREW

That necklace is awesome! I like running errands with my friends because I just think of it as time we get to spend together.

You're really such a fantastic accesorizer! Love the varied blue tones here. One of my typical pairings when I wear scarves is dangly earrings to amp up the intentional gypsy-chic vibe.

That's so smart! I always feel like outfits look too busy when there are multiple accessories. I didn't think about how the color scheme impacts it all!
