Loungin' Around

Occasion:

This past Sunday, D and I got to have a super relaxing day! The ironic thing is we were supposed to have a ton of different plans, and then they all got cancelled for one reason or another...that was fine by us! We did a couple of low-key errands. Staples for some back-to-school supplies (their sales are crazy!), Home Depot for air-conditioner filters (they didn't have our kind:( ), BuyBuyBaby for a present for our friends who just had a baby boy, and BedBath&Beyond (because we can't walk past one without going in!) D is really into making sushi and he's really good at it, so for lunch we made sushi - YUM! Later we took Keppie for a long walk in the park, then we came home and she fell asleep on the floor for a while - soooo cute! We cleaned up our apartment, sorted the dirty laundry and had a very low-key dinner. It was a great lazy Sunday...we LOVED it!

In honor of the low-key day, I chose a low-key outfit. I love this gold and white boat neck shirt. It has a great nautical feel, and also has a great "worn" look because the stripes aren't perfect (they have some intentional fading here and there.) I layered it with a classic jean jacket - another staple for every woman's fashion arsenal! I kept it simple on the bottom as well with this flowy black skirt with eyelet embroidery. For a splash of color, I added these coral gladiator sandal with a great chain detail and my cherry colored Longchamp:)

Exciting News!!!

I love your outfit from today! This is definitely something I would wear on a regular basis.

Also, I read your interview you posted and I loved it! It was so interesting to read how you gradually became observant. As a hopeful convert, I'm practicing buying more modest clothes one step at a time. Each new shirt I buy is a tiny bit longer in the sleeves, or just a bit higher in the neckline, etc. It's hard but I completely see how it can positively affect your life. Thanks for an extra boost of motivation :)
