Corduroy!

Occasion:

One of the best things about fall in my opinion is...corduroy! I love the look and feel and the extra bit of stretch that it gives. I have 5+ corduroy skirts in different colors and cuts and every time I unpack my closet for fall/winter I get really excited to wear them:)

I think that this charcoal grey corduroy skirt is my favorite one of all of my corduroy skirts. I wanted to showcase a bunch of accessories so I kept the outfit simple and used it as blank canvas. I chose a simple black button down shirt and decided to tuck it in for a more polished look. My silver studded belt coordinated perfectly with the charcoal colored skirt and the grey pinstripe newsie cap tied the outfit together. Since the outfit was put together to show off accessories, I chose this chunky ivory colored necklace to really make a statement. My moccasins were the final touch to this ensemble:)

Outfit:

Shirt: GAP

Skirt: J.CREW

Belt: GAP

Hat: Banana Republic

Necklace: Banana Republic

Tights: Century 21 (Hue)

Boots: Zappos (Minnetonka)

How do you feel about corduroy? Do you have a favorite fall/winter textile?

You really dress nice, I'm glad you have a blog or we'd be missing all your awesome outfits. I have only one corduray skirt but I think my fave for fall is wool, I love wool more than anything during the winter. The necklace is great! =D

What a fabulous necklace! It's perfect on a simple black shirt, and I like the black and grey with just this little bit of white for a contrast.

Corduroy is a great material for winter. I haven't worn it for years because I just can't find a corduroy skirt that doesn't end above the knees - but I've seen some of which I thought that I'd want to buy them if they were long enough.

I love corduroy also! I had one corduroy skirt that I really wanted to wear but it had a slit in the middle. So I added a blue piece of material and some blue fringe. So now it has a western look to it!!!

Now I also have a pink corduroy skirt too! A friend from work brought some clothes she was gettin grid of. She had some baby pink corduroy pants. So I took them home and turned them into a skirt and added white lace to the bottom :)

So NOW I have two and I love how warm and cozy them are :)

Great selection!

@Modesty is Pretty - thanks so much:) you always have the nicest things to say! i love it! i am also a big wool fan, but wool is much harder b/c you have to make sure that it isnt itchy or its the worst thing to have on!!

@Ilona - thanks, I love this necklace and i dont wear it as often as i would like because for some reason i dont think it goes with much since it is so busy...i am gonna try to work it in more this winter:) also, in terms of longer corduroy skirts - jcrew is a great option b/c they always have knee length skirts:)

@Kendra - wow!! so creative! i wish i had that talent, but sadly...i am not really a diy person...i lack the creativity and the actual sewing skills:)
