Hi from Southwest Florida!!
Hi Y'all! Sorry I've been a bit MIA...D and I are visiting my parents in sunny Southwest Florida:) My parents moved to Fort Myers 2 years ago for my dad's job and we are so glad that they did! We've been soaking up the sun in my parent's pool, taking their dogs for walks and today we went out on a pontoon boat in the bay. It's amazing here...80s during the day, 70s at night...makes me not want to head back to the NY area. My brother came in from college in Pittsburgh for the holiday weekend and my grandfather (my only living grandparent) came from Boca Raton for Thanksgiving and since my sister lives at home for college, all of us kids were home at the same time since the summer. I helped my mom cook a bunch and we had such a nice Thanksgiving dinner. D and I had a very relaxing shabbos with a LOT of sleep:) It's so nice to be at my parents house and I am so thankful for my amazing husband, loving parents, great brother and sister and I am feeling so incredibly blessed for all that I have! I also have to be thankful for YOU - all of my wonderful readers and fellow fashion bloggers - for being so supportive of this endeavor of mine!
I know what you are thinking...this outfit doesn't look so 'summery'! Well, truth is, I am a bit behind on outfit posts and decided not to really document my outfits here in FL (I had to pack really light and have basically been wearing the same couple of things the whole week)...so pardon me if I just catch up on some outfits that have been in my queue:) I did however, do some great Black Friday shopping, so stay tuned for some new mixing and matching. D and I were crazy enough to take a nap for a few hours after dinner on Thursday and then go out shopping at midnight to some great outlets down here. It was packed and a madhouse...but we both came away with some great deals:) My family has never been one for Black Friday shopping, but D's family really takes their Black Friday shopping seriously, so this year I agreed to go and I have to say, it was a success!
I haven't really worn this skirt much since the summer and I wanted to break it out for the cooler weather. Since I am really into mixing masculine looking items with feminine pieces, I opted to pair this flowy, ruffley skirt with a classic sweater-over-button-down look. I accentuated the masculine top with a silk scarf tied as a neck tie. To add more definition, I added this wide braided belt and to go along with the menswear theme, I chose my oxfords. To top it all off, I wore a simple black beret.
Sweater: Wet Seal
Scarf (as necktie): Century 21
Tights: Century 21 (Hue)
Shoes: Zappos (Steve Madden)
Hat: H & M
Did you do anything exciting over Thanksgiving?? Go anywhere fun??
