I took a bit of an unannounced break because things were really crazy around here...but now I am back and I have a ton of outfits in my queue...so get ready!! To recap the past few weeks: D and I went to FL for Thanksgiving to be with my family and we had a great time and did some great summery things like swimming and boating...but in the winter:) We got back and as soon as we were unpacked it was time to celebrate Chanukkah...to all my fellow MOT (members of the Tribe) I hope you had a wonderful Chanukkah:) School has been a bit crazy and I was asked to lead an event at school which was a bit time consuming...but it's over now and it was very successful so I am really happy! I have break coming up from school - Friday is my last day until the end of January...so expect to see some cool changes around here as I will have a TON of time to devote to blogging:)
This outfit was definitely an experiment for me with all of the mix-and-match colors going on. You might have noticed lately that I have tried mixing my chambray shirts with denim for a more monochromatic look, but this time I decided to have a color contrast and I went for the tan skirt. Blue and orange are almost opposites on the color wheel, so they tend to go really well together. I layered this burnt orange v-neck sweater over my button-down and cinched it with a brown braided leather belt to give it more shape (I used Elaine's "twisty belt" technique again...if you haven't tried it, you definitely have to!! For a bit more excitement, I added this colorful silk scarf tied as a necktie and a navy knitted beret. I chose leggings since it's getting cooler and these moccasin booties seriously feel like slippers, so every chance I get, I'm puttin' these baby's on!!
White Undershirt: Elzee (Brooklyn, NY)
Scarf (as Necktie): Century 21
What have you been up to for the past few weeks??
