Off the Shoulder

Wow! We were hit with almost 2 feet of snow up here in Northern NJ. I am definitely not prepared as I don't own a pair of snow boots so right now I am borrowing from my friend D until I get some of my own...thanks D!

We came back from our ski trip in VT yesterday. We left the slopes early to get in before the storm got too bad. We got in before most of it, but towards the end I was a bit hairy on the road. Luckily, D is from Chicago and is used to driving in the snow...he's a champ for getting us home safely:)  Skiing was really fun! I took a lesson on Friday morning and then afterwards I practiced going down the smallest green slope all afternoon. D was a great coach as well and helped me gain confidence. I am actually a pretty good skier for it being my first time...and I had a blast...even though my body is rebelling now (soooo sore!). I can't wait til the next time we get to go!

Keppie was soooo funny in the snow! She loved it and kept trying to eat so much of it. She would jump into a huge snow drift and bound was amazing to watch. We brought out our camera and got some great pictures and video of her playing around.

This outfit was from one of the last days of school before the break. I wanted to wear a pretty traditional outfit - black sweater, grey skirt, white button-down, but I really wanted to 'dress it up' and make it more interesting. I pulled the sweater to lay off the shoulder and let my necklace drape really low. I finished off the outfit with my fringed moccasins.

 Sweater: Wet Seal

Button-Down: J.CREW

Skirt: H&M

Tights: Century 21 (Hue)

Necklace: Gift from R

Shoes: Zappos (Minnetonka)

What do you do to jazz up an otherwise boring outfit?

It's amazing what you made of a normally simple combination of black and white and grey! I love the fancy neckline of the black pullover with the ruffle shirt underneath. And the black and white flower necklace is great with this outfit.

By the way, the amount of snow you describe sounds quite familiar at the moment ;-)

You look adorable!! What do I do to jazz up outfits? Go crazy with the accessories! When I wear black and white I'll usually wear hot pink point toe shoes and pink jewelry, just to throw everybody off. :)
