Camel, Black and White

{Shirt / Cape: LOFT, old (sim) / Skirt: Carly'z Craze (sim) / Boots: Banana Republic, old (sim) / Glasses / Necklace: Thrifted / Watch: Michael Kors}

Made use of the teeeny window of time between the rain yesterday to take photos. I love this super simple color combo of camel, black and timeless and classic. Wearing this cape is like walking around while wrapped in a big cozy blanket all day which is awesome in my book!

Fav Beauty Buys

My Beauty Routine

I've gotten some questions about my beauty routine, so I figured I'd do a post with my current beauty buy favs of the moment. Most of them are pretty simple drug store purchases (with a few exceptions), and my daily routine is pretty low maintenance, because let's be honest, as a stay-at-home-mommy to an almost-one-year-old, I don't have a lot of time to invest in the morning to an intricate routine :)

1. I try to moisturize in the morning before putting on any makeup and at night before bed. This moisturizer is extremely lightweight, not greasy and I love that it really does make the light bounce off my face making my skin brighter and more awake looking.

2. This stuff is intense! I use this first thing in the morning and right before I get in bed to quench my parched lips. It's got serious staying power because it's super thick and leaves my lips super smooth, repairing dry, cracked lips really quickly.

3. This all-in-one color is awesome. I mostly use it as a cream blush and it goes on so easily and blends with just a few swipes of my fingers. It's such a flattering shimmer-y pink flush and looks equally amazing on lips and eyelids as well. If I'm running late and have to cut back on the routine, this and the mascara are the only products that make the cut.

4. I have been on the hunt for the perfect mascara and after reading Molly's review, I decided to give this one a try. Let me tell you, I have never been so pleasantly surprised by a mascara! The bend-y brush takes a little getting used to, but it goes on without clumps and it has craaazy staying power! My previous mascaras plagued me with raccoon eye so I was constantly searching for a replacement. The search is over, people!

5. Genetics blessed me with really good skin but the truth is, I never really took such great care of it. I generally only wash my face in the shower with this face wash, which, even though it has benzoyl peroxide, is pretty mild. I used it by itself and now I use it with my Clarisonic. It's really creamy, leaves my face feeling refreshed and smooth and keeps any minor breakouts under control.

6. This color palette is great for my blue eyes and since it has so many colors, I can create a lot of different looks. I use the lightest color on the inner corners of my eyes for instant brightness. Thanks, Mom, for the recommendation!

7. Looooove my Clarisonic! I had been seeing bloggers talk about them for months and wasn't sure if I should believe the hype, but curiousity got the best of me. I invested in one (not cheap, but so worth it!) and man-oh-man is this thing amazing!  They come in several fun colors, and I love my emerald green one :) It's pretty amazing that just one minute with this baby can make my skin look and feel soooo good; I now really look forward to my nightly facewash shesh.

8. Genetics also left me with mild dark puffy circles under my eyes, and while I have tried my fair share of cover-ups and concealers, this product is by far the best. As soon as this stuff, which rolls on super smooth, dries; my eyes look and feel less puffy, tired and dark. I actually stopped using under-eye concealer althogether after starting this product.

9. My mom has been using this for as long as I can remember and it has been my go-to chapstick for just about as long. It leaves my lips smooth and super shiny. I love the subtle rose smell and I keep a pot (or tube) in every purse and even my diaper bag and stroller console. I can't go anywhere without this chapstick, it's just that good!

10. Nars lipsticks are my favorite brand, hand-down. This is one of my fav neutral colors for everyday wear. It's sheer but not too sheer and is a universally flattering color. For more of a statement I also love Funny Face and Scarlett Empress!

11. I used to buy whatever shampoo and conditioner were on sale at Walgreens but I found my hair was never rinsing clean and go oily so quickly. I tried this while staying at a friends' house and I haven't looked back. The smell (oh the smell) smells like such expensive salon shampoo, has such a rich lather, washes out so well, and is sulfate and paraben free so it's much easier on my hair. It also helps that it's either always on sale somewhere and there are always coupons in the saturday paper. I stock up because if I were to run out and had to use my husband's shampoo and conditioner, I think I would cry. Shampoo is serious business, ok?

So there ya go. If anyone has any products that they absolutely love, feel free to share them in the comments. I am always looking for new gems :)

* This is not a sponsored post. I purchased all of the products and truly love them.

Currently Craving No. 2

Currently Craving No. 2

'Mixing' is all the rage these days, so this combo is all about mixing. Pattern mixing, high-low price point mixing, and boyish-ladylike mixing. Oh man, that skirt is just calling my name and we all know that I'm a sucker for a great statement necklace (although this one is def outta my budget!).

Looking out the window at a schizo sky that can't make up it's mind about rain or shine is making me crazy for spring. Also, hey you bird out there...your constant cheery chirping isn't helping matters.

Have a great last day of the weekend!

Mint, Cream and Grey

{Sweater: J.Crew / Skirt: GAP (old but love this one / Shirt: Banana Republic / Scarf: LOFT (fun spring version) / Necklace: LOFT (total splurge!) / Belt: J.Crew (sim) / Boots: UGG (sim) / Bracelet: J.Crew / Watch: Michael Kors}

Confession: I have jumped on the mint bandwagon and I am so not ashamed! I swear this color has magical properties, the least of which being an instant mood lifter and the ability to reflect gorgeous light. Every time I walk into a store my eyes are drawn to this color like a magnet. Won't somebody puh-lease make a mint-colored denim pencil skirt 'cause this color is too beautiful to be limited to pants. All of these cute mint jeans have me wishing I wore pants right about now... So, if you'd be so kind to let me know if you stumble onto a knee-length mint-colored skirt, you'd have my eternal gratitude. Hey, that means something :)

*Photo-heavy Post

{SweaterNecklaceBeltBraceletBag and Boots (sim): all J.Crew / Skirt: Banana Republic (old) / Faux-fur Snood: LOFT-old (sim) / Watch: Michael Kors }

D surprised me couple months ago telling me that he snagged us tickets to Couture Fashion Week! Unfortunately, our Valentine's Day was spent traveling back from Florida, so we used this opportunity as a belated Valentine's Day date and had an amazing time.

We saw African designer Allex Kangala's menswear collection and those suits were ohmigosh, so stunning. From patterned and textured material, to flowered, geometric and coordinating lapels, and gorgeous tailoring, the tradition suit is getting a serious upgrade. Ladies, you better up the ante, 'cause your guy is totally gonna steal the center of attention in one of those dashing numbers.

Those sweaters were anything but boring as well. Decorated with fun pockets, interesting weaving and texture and embellishments such as leather trim and ribbon throughout, they almost have me wishing
that I could wear them now...almost.

I was lucky enough to be able to take a few pics with the models and D got some amazing behind-the-scenes snaps in hair and makeup. We followed up the show with an amazing dinner at Va Bene on the Upper East Side...that place is delicious and never disappoints.

Thanks for such a great date night, D!

{Jacket: Target / Shirt: Prabal Gurung for Target / Skirt: Carly's Craze / Sandals: Prabal Gurung for Target / Sunnies: LOFT}

New Jersey welcomed us back late last night with huge piles of gross, grey-brown, slushy snow. Not cool, NJ...not cool. I haven't stepped outside today yet, but when I do I might just cry. For now, I'll just close my eyes and daydream about swimming, sun and sandals...Spring, where are you?!

This shirt is one of my Prabal Gurung for Target purchases and ohmigosh how fun is that print? The neon flower make me smile just looking at it. The first time I saw this blazer I really wanted it...but at $34.99 I decided to pass. However, a quick once-over of the clearance rack earlier this week yielded this beauty accompanied by a $10 price tag. Don't mind if I do :)

TGIF and have a great weekend!

Bold and Bright

{Shirt, Sandals: Prabal Gurung for Target / Jacket: J.Crew / Skirt: Carly's Craze /
Necklaces: Francescas / Bracelet: Thanks Mom! / Sunnies: LOFT}

In the past, I haven't paid too much attention to designer collaborations, but Target has been killing it lately with their designer collections! For Yishai's nursery, I purchased a Nate Berkus for Target lamp shade, and I loved almost everything in the Neiman Marcus collaboration although I didn't purchase anything. But when I first saw Prabal Gurung was designing for Target, that date went on the Google calendar immediately! I wasn't able to get there until yesterday, but luckily the booming metropolis that is my parents town of Ft. Myers, FL moves at a slower pace and there was plenty for me to choose from. I am loving the bold, bright colors and prints and the weather here in FL has me wishing for spring in NJ. I got a few other goodies that I'll post soon! We are headed back to NJ tomorrow and I know as soon as we step foot off the plane, I'm going to be longing to go back to FL.
