Modestly Fashioned is a lifestyle blog dedicated to being a source of inspiration for modest fashion, beauty, home decor and do-it-yourself (DIY) projects. Here I give ideas and tips on how to bring style and creativity into your everyday life!
I started Modestly Fashioned in 2010, newly married and needing a creative outlet while in school in New York City.
It began as a way to document getting dressed every day for school in a city where great fashion does not go unnoticed. My personal style is the perfect mix of classic and girly and anyone who knows me would say I've never met a statement necklace I didn't like!
The oldest daughter of two creative parents (my mom sews beautifully and my dad can build anything), I basically grew up with tools in my hand and always had some sort of project in the works. Between 2012-2013, my husband, David, and I were blessed with two beautiful boys and bought our first home together. My blog began to evolve as a more well-rounded lifestyle outlet to incorporate my family life, love of home decor/design inspiration and ever-growing list DIY projects.
In 2015, I was lucky enough to combine my love of fashion and DIY 'addiction' into a full time career as a visual stylist for one of the country's largest retailers. I design in-house store displays and am in charge of women's fashion styling. My job is seriously a dream come true!
